   “Once it’s out in the world, give it a last look-over before sharing—I’ve caught some spelling mistakes and other errors this way that happened in between the last draft I provided and the draft that got published!”

   What happens if we do notice an error when it’s out in the world and published? Would we notify the editor of this, even though they, or the sub-editor would have been the last to review the piece?

      Tracey — Good question! In general, if it is just a minor typo or small mistake, I would tend towards leaving it alone. That being said, every editor and publication has different preferences and a different way of working with their freelancers. The right answer really depends on your relationship with the editor and the best way to manage that relationship.
