So, without further ado, here’s today’s list…

  1. Reformed Perspective is a print publication with a readership of 4-5,000. The majority of their readers live in Canada, while a sizable minority live in the United States, Australia, and the rest of the world. Their “readers are almost all from a conservative Reformed background and include members of the Canadian Reformed, United Reformed, and Australian Free Reformed churches as well as many others.” According to their pitch guide, they pay an honorarium of $100 to $300 for articles of 800 to 2,000 words.   1. Touchstone is a Christian journal that publishes articles with a professional, polished voice that speak to Protestant, Catholic, and Orthodox readers. They accept freelance submissions for their features (3,000–5,000 words), views (800–2,000 words), communiqués departments (1,500–2,000 words), and book reviews (700–1,500 words). According to their pitch guide, they pay 20 cents per word for original features, views, communiqués, and review, plus two complimentary copies. To learn more, refer to their submission guidelines.
  1. The Quiet Hour publishes devotionals quarterly. Each devotional features an anecdote that leads into a Scripture-based insight and closes with a prayer or quotation. Writers are assigned contracts for seven devotionals each quarter, and according to their pitch guide, they pay $170 for each contract. For more information, refer to their submission guidelines.
  1. The Christian Courier is a bi-weekly publication that speaks from a Reformed perspective (although writers do not need to be Reformed). They describe their content as “an eclectic boutique of styles, opinions and flavors,” and it falls under three categories: News, Features, Reviews and Art & Poetry. According to their pitch guide, they pay $50 for opinion, $35 for short reviews and $80 for long, $90 for news, $110 for features, and $60 for original poetry.   1. The Christian Standard is a general interest Christian magazine. They want stories ‘’that not only quote Scripture, but also biblical truth to saturate and be embedded into them, whether you quote directly from the Bible or not.” Their articles are no longer than 1,800 words. They have previously indicated to pay up to 11 cents per word. To learn more, refer to this page.
  1. Today’s Christian Living is a bimonthly magazine designed to encourage and engage Christians of all ages. It contains inspirational stories about how the Lord has touched the lives of both ordinary and well-known Christians in remarkable ways. Editors look for story-based and testimonial freelance submissions. Editors purchase all rights to original articles. According to their pitch guide, payment is $25 for less than 750 words, $75 for 750-800 words, $100 for 801-1,199 words, and $150 for 1,200-1,800 words. They are not always open to submissions.   1. Nature Friend Magazine is a children’s Christian magazine focusing on wild nature world-wide. This conservative Christian publication wants to “partner with like-minded writers who help us fulfill our goal of educating and entertaining children in the realm of nature, for the glory of God.” A sample issue is available online. Editors prefer complete manuscripts (500-1000 words); they buy original articles and reprints. According to their pitch guide, payment is $0.10 per edited word for full rights, $0.08 for first rights and $0.05 per edited word for second rights (plus a complimentary copy).
