  1. Verily Magazine is a fashion and lifestyle magazine for women. They offer inspiring and insightful content that inspires women to be their best selves. They cover fashion, beauty, dating, romance, relationships, entertainment, culture, news, health, and lifestyle.   1. Black Ballad is a UK based lifestyle platform that seeks to tell the human experience through the eyes of black British women. They only commission those with the lived experience of being a Black woman, Black transwoman or Black non-binary person to achieve their mission and vision. They cover a range of topics from politics and pop culture through to beauty, careers, relationships and family life which explore the multi-faceted nuances of Blackness. All writers are paid. Teen Vogue is an online publication that offers the latest on fashion, celebrity style, entertainment, beauty, teen issues, etc. They accept pitches for reported and op-ed pieces across the following sections: culture (covers TV, movies, music, internet culture, etc), identity (covers mental health, sexual health, body image, etc), style & beauty (highlights trends, changemakers, celebrity styles, and more), politics (covers social justice, politics, history, and education.) According to an old tweet from their news & politics editor, they generally pay $250 to $600 per piece, and according to a payment report, they paid $0.29 per word for a 1400-word story.   1. Byrdie covers skin, makeup, hair, wellness, product reviews, and more. According to their about us page, they are always seeking experienced and qualified beauty writers. They do not accept unsolicited articles, blogs, or posts. According to an old tweet from their editor, pay started at $200, but current pay rates are not clear. To learn more, refer to this page.
  1. Self covers health and wellness. They are always seeking new writers and are especially excited to work more frequently with BIPOC, LGBTQ+ writers and writers from other marginalized groups. They want stories that explore personal, community, or public health, ideally with a service element. Their main categories of focus are health, fitness, food, beauty, love, and lifestyle. According to their pitch guide, rates start at $450 for short and quick news stories, $500 for reported service stories, and $800 for features.
  1. HipLatina is a website that empowers the Latinx/e community and amplifies their voices. They cover news, entertainment, culture, wellness, beauty, fashion, lifestyle, and family. They accept pitches for original content. Their essays are between 800-1200 words and features/essays are 1,000-1,500 words. Motley Bloom is “a curated collective focused on Neurodivergent First living.” They’re looking for short first-person narratives and articles (500 to 800 words) on “travel, beauty, home design, work and career, product reviews–anything that falls under the umbrella of Neurodivergent Living.” They’re also seeking longer first-person narratives (1,000+ words) that “showcase the diversity of opinion and experience with neurodivergence.” According to their submissions page, rates begin at $300 for short articles and $500 for longer pieces.   1. PopSugar is a global lifestyle media brand for young women. They cover entertainment, beauty, fashion, fitness, health, food, current events, parenting, and more. They promote diverse voices and opinions. Our previous research indicated that rates usually started at $200 for essays and $300 for reported pieces, but current pay rates are not clear.
